Sometimes sympathy ecards or online sympathy cards are the perfect option due to its convenience. Nevertheless, it is not all the time an appropriate sympathy expression. Whether you should send one depends on several factors. Furthermore, sending an online sympathy card also depends on the person, the extent of the loss and how soon after the death happened you are going to send it.

An online sympathy is appropriate if it has been a while since the death occurred and you want to send a quick message. Keep in mind that when a person is experiencing a tragic loss, an ecard of online sympathy card may appear too casual. A hand-written sympathy card is best. Like any rules of etiquette, you must use your best judgment whether you should send an online sympathy card or not. People’s views vary and what is considered rude to others is not to some people.

However, if you live far and there is a chance that your sympathy card will not reach the bereaved in time and you want to convey your sympathies immediately, an online sympathy card will serve its purpose because it is instant. Furthermore, if you think it is impossible for you to send a hand-written sympathy card or letter, then an online sympathy card is the best option.
