The best way to write a sympathy card is to be genuine and simply say what you feel

A sympathy letter for the loss of a mother is sent to sympathize with the children of the departed. The letter shares the sorrow in this very hard time. A mother is the most important person in one’s life and losing her is very painful and difficult indeed. A sympathy letter for a mother’s passing should be written in a way that it shows concern and grief.

Remember that a sympathy letter should always be written by hand. Below is an example of a sympathy letter for the loss of a mother.

Dear Bill,

I heard about the passing of your mom due to an accident the other week. I sympathize and hope that you and the family are coping well with this extremely terrible loss.

I know how difficult it is to lose a mother. When my mother died last year, we were all at a loss and devastated. Nevertheless, with prayers and the guidance of the Lord, we came to accept that He had taken back a life that is borrowed. Your mom lived a productive and happy life. I will never forget her warm presence in many dinners I have attended in your house. You surely got her sense of humor and with this, she will always be present in your life.

Hoping that this letter will help you come to terms with your mom’s passing.

Your friend,

Dirk
